My name is Karen Sieber, and I am a PhD student in Public History and United States History at Loyola University Chicago. My research interests are varied but primarily center around 20th century United States history, neighborhood and community history, southern culture, civil rights, mill villages and travel & leisure. I strive to connect the public with the tools necessary to better understand, preserve and share the history around them. I am also endlessly curious about what we as academics can learn from the public about the sharing and preservation of history too.
